The diamonds are original to the piece and set in silver which is laid down on gold. This is the way all true period Georgian jewelry was made. The silver was set around the stones to bring out their color. This Antique English Georgian jewelry necklace double diamond drop measures 2 and three quarters inches long. Each drop is held by a flat bar attached to a diamond bar. One drop is set lower than the other for a wonderful effect. This is truly a rare piece which we will not be able to duplicate.This is just Georgian jewelry at its best. The gold chain which holds this period Georgain piece is a later addition |
